What to expect:

No matter where you are on your faith journey, we think a good cup of coffee and a conversation can go a long way in making people feel welcome. You're invited to arrive at 10:30 to meet someone new before the service begins.

If you have children, follow the signs to SPLASH Kids to check them in before the service begins. Children from kindergarten through 5th grade get to enjoy the first portion of the worship service and will be dismissed to SPLASH Kids midway through the service.

Worship Service:

The service begins at 10:45am with songs of worship, scripture readings, and corporate prayers of confession and faith. Our worship style is both ancient and future, relaxed and reverent, liturgical and vibrant. We love to use the best songs and prayers from the ancient church as well as the modern church, and our musical style differs a little each week. At LBC we believe that worship is not a concert or a spectator sport, but a time for all of us to participate in a reenactment of God’s story: Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration. Worship shapes our identity as the people of God!

After a time of singing and praying together, we pause in the middle of the service to greet one another with God’s peace, hear what’s happening in the LBC community, and dismiss older children to SPLASH Kids. After that Brian Lum Shue Chan, our senior pastor, or a guest speaker, will teach a Bible-based sermon.  You can learn more about the current sermon series and listen to past sermons HERE.

We usually close the service with a song and a promise (benediction) from God’s word. In addition, at some point in the service each week, we take time to worship through the giving of our gifts—If you’re visiting with us we don’t want you to feel any pressure to give—this is one of the ways we acknowledge that everything we have comes from God, and it is an act of worship when his people give back to the work of the church.

The first Sunday of the month we participate in the sacrament of the Lord's Supper together. This is a time to reflect on the sacrifice of Christ as a community, in keeping with 1 Corinthians 11. If you are not yet a follower of Christ, we ask that you refrain from participating in Communion, but if you confess faith in Christ you are welcome at the table, regardless of your denominational background or alignment.
